Can parrots eat lychee?

Safe to share
Lychee · Fruits

Yes — lychee flesh is a safe, sweet treat. Always remove the large inedible seed first.

Keeper's notePeel it, pop the seed out, and offer the flesh. It's sweet, so treat-sized portions only.

Why lychee is good for parrots

Lychee flesh is non-toxic and rich in vitamin C, and parrots enjoy its perfumed sweetness. The two things to manage: the big central seed (a choking hazard that should never be offered) and the sugar content, which makes lychee an occasional treat. Peel the leathery skin too.
