Yes — unsalted cashews are a safe, well-liked treat with healthy fats and protein. Like all nuts, ration them.
Keeper's noteUnsalted, unflavored only. A great soft nut for species with smaller beaks that struggle with almonds.
Why cashews is good for parrots
Cashews sold for eating are always roasted or steamed (raw cashews aren't sold to consumers), so the shell's irritant oil is long gone and they're safe. They bring protein, magnesium, and good fats. Being fatty, they're a treat measured in pieces, not handfuls.
How to serve it
Plain, unsalted cashews; whole or halved.
One or two for larger parrots, a piece for small birds.
